Margot Robbie and Brad Pitt star in the dazzling trailer for "Babylon" released Sept. 13.
In the movie, directed by Damian Chazelle, they play Hollywood stars in the 1920s, struggling to make their way through the world as Los Angeles and Hollywood change forever.
"The basic idea was just to do a big, epic, multicharacter movie, set in these early days of Los Angeles and Hollywood,
when both of these things were coming into what we now think of them as," Chazelle told Vanity Fair on Sept. 7.
"Everything is shifting underneath people's feet," he told the magazine about the time period, "and I became really fascinated by the human cost of disruption at that magnitude,
at a time when there was no road map, when everything was just new and wild." Chazelle also directed 2014's "Whiplash" and 2016's "La La Land."
"Babylon" is Robbie and Pitt's second film together after 2019's "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood."
"Babylon" also stars newcomer Diego Calva, "Quantico" actress Li Jun Li, and Tobey Maguire
Robbie has a busy roster of movies ahead of her. This October, she stars in "Amsterdam" with Taylor Swift, John David Washington, and Robert De Niro.
